In today’s fast-paced digital age, maintaining an accurate and updated online presence is crucial for businesses. One of the main ways potential customers discover businesses is through online search. The two most popular search engines are Google and Apple Maps. Ensuring that these two platforms are up-to-date is not just beneficial but necessary. An updated profile can significantly enhance your visibility, improve your local SEO and ensure that customers have the correct information about your business.

Google Business Profile (GBP)

An accurate Google Business Profile should include the following correct information:

  • Business Name, Address, Phone Number and website link
  • Multiple service areas listed (think about each city and county that you can service not just where you are located)
  • Business Category (list every category that you can service)
  • Social profiles
  • Keyword Optimized business description
  • Business hours
  • Photos including your logo, front of your location and any other pictures that are relevant to your business

It is important that you are reviewing each of these items quarterly as things with businesses change. You will also want to respond to all Google reviews and questions that are asked on your profile.

It is important that you are posting consistently on your Google Business Profile. Most companies think that by posting on social media they are engaging with all of their potential clients, but Google is a different audience. We recommend posting at least once a week on your Google Business Profile. While the post can be the same post that you are posting on social media, it is important to remember that a post on your GBP cannot be a MP4.

Don’t have a physical business address? No problem, you can still claim and optimize your business and hide your address.

HERE is an example of an optimized Google Business Profile

Apple Listing

An updated Apple listing is crucial. Apple maps is deeply integrated into the Apple ecosystem, which includes devices like iPhones, iPads, and Macs. By keeping your Apple listing current you ensure that your business information is accurate across all these devices. An accurate Apple listing should include the following correct information:

  • Business Name, Address, Phone Number and website link
  • Keyword optimized business description
  • Business hours
  • Photos including your logo, front of your location and any other pictures that are relevant to your business

While some of the details in an Apple listing are different from your Google Business Profile it is important that you optimize and review both platforms. An up-to-date listing on Apple Maps can help in attracting tech-savvy customers who rely on Apple’s navigation services.

With an Apple listing you will have to have a physical address to showcase.

Consistency across both platforms not only builds trust with your customers but also presents a professional image, ultimately driving more traffic and increasing your business’s growth.
